Tacos That Steal the Show

The tacos here are the star of the menu—Asada, Lengua, and Pollo are all must-tries. Each bite is juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. The Asada taco delivers grilled perfection, the Lengua taco melts in your mouth, and the Pollo taco offers savory comfort that never disappoints.

 Quesadillas That Keep You Hooked

No trip to Mr. Taco is complete without their green salsa—fresh, zesty, and with just the right kick. For cheese lovers, the Quesadilla al Pastor is a must. Packed with flavor and oozing with cheese, this dish has been winning over customers (myself included) since as far back as 2004.

Why Locals Love Mr. Taco

Great food, playful and friendly service, and hours that work for both family dinners and late-night cravings. For authentic Mexican food in Wichita, Mr. Taco is a go-to destination on the Northside.

A First Look at Lottē – Wichita’s Newest Downtown Destination

🍽️ We had the privilege of getting a sneak peek at Lottē, Wichita’s newest fine dining hotspot, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt intentional—every detail designed to create an atmosphere that’s both cozy and chic.

🌟 The ambiance alone sets the stage, but the real star is the menu. Each plate is crafted with precision, and one dish in particular stole the spotlight: the Black Truffle Chicken. Perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor, this entrée was nothing short of a revelation—a must-try for food lovers in Wichita.

🤤 Paired with warm hospitality and the creativity of Chef Josh Rathbun and his talented team, dining at Lottē feels less like a meal and more like an experience. Add in the stylish design and carefully curated flavors, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a memorable evening out.

🥂 Whether you’re searching for a new Wichita fine dining restaurant, planning a date night, or simply want to explore what’s fresh and exciting in the city’s food scene, Lottē is a destination worth adding to your list.

Special thanks to Lets.Eat.ICT for the invite, and our tastebuds. are already looking forward to round two.

Taco Bar Wedding From Rent The Chef

🌮🍾When people ask me why I got into filming weddings, there’s really only one answer, 🍰THE FOOD!

We’ll book wedding based on the caterers, lol jk.
But for real, we have a short list of caterers that we are always excited to see at weddings, and Rent The Chef is at the very tip-top!
It’s a very elaborate way to get free tacos 🌮, we know, but so worth it!
But once you’ve had your shot at This Taco Bar, with SOOOO MAAANNYYY TOOOOPPPINGS BTW
By Chef Jason Febres and his team at RTC, you’d know it’s totally worth it!!
If you’re lucky enough to be at a wedding, event or private party, where RTC will be catering, save some extra room for a second plate!
Or just Rent Him! It’s in the name!!

A Revisit at Calvin’s Hamburger Haven

Me: I’d never eat a Peanut Butter Burger.
Also Me: What’s the weirdest Burger you got?

I tried to make it to Whiskey Dicks but apparently they sleep in on Mondays. So since I was in the area, I thought I should revisit Calvin’s Hamburger Haven
Since last time I got a pretty standard double bacon burger, and with everyone saying that I needed to try the PB Burger, it just made sense to make the trip.
We ordered the PB Burger, The Hotdog Burger in honor of Hotdog Month, shout-out Live Local for his spiritual hotdog journey he’s on, and a delicious double bacon burger with some mozzarella sticks.

Yo, the PBB was unreal. I’ve actually had a PBB before, and I hated it. It was dry and it had me doing that things dogs do when the PB gets stuck to the roof of their mouth.
But the one I got from Calvin’s was perfect! The PB was warm and smooth, and the greasy burger made sure nothing was sticking.
I practically forced @lisa.lifestyle.ict to have a bit, and to watch her face go from mildly annoyed and upset, to surprisingly blown away was priceless.

The Hotdog burger was exactly that, some weiners on a burger bun, it was also inexpensive. The mozzarella sticks were what you’d expect. Tasty and hot, pretty standard stuff.
But the Peanut Butter Burger was definitely the highlight of the trip… I might be semi-obsessed with PBB now that I’ve had a good one.

If I w learned anything on this Burger Tour is that Burgers are versatile. They can be ate for a simple and hardy lunch. Juju it up to a have an upscale dinner piece. Or slap an egg on it and call it breakfast!
While there is no wrong way to Burger, you can always have favorites, and call me old fashion, but I’m a sucker for an jammy egg on a burger with a morning time michelada.
Which is exactly what we had at Local Flavor.
@lisa.lifestyle.ict tried their breakfast burger, and I grabbed some of their great tacos.
And no visit to Local Flavor would be complete without their Local Pie. ❤️

NORTON’S was a fresh breath of logic

Nortons Brewing Company stood on business and made sure that this morning time burger came with an egg, mandatory!

If you follow my stories, you may have noticed a survey about eggs on breakfast/brunch burgers.
I recently went to a fairly pricey place and the egg for their brunch burger was an upcharge! Damn near lost my mind.
THEN WHAT MAKES IT A BRUNCH BURGER IF NO EGG!?!
Anyways, NORTON’S was a fresh breath of logic, cause their hangover burger came with a fried egg, as all breakfast/brunch/hangover Burgers should!
The egg was eggy, and perfectly jammy and the jalapenos were a nice kick to wake up.
We also picked up the tendies. I enjoyed them!
f you want a more in-depth review of these chicken tendies, check out @lisa.lifestyle.ict as she achieves her life long journey of finding the best tendies in the Wichita.
If you’re gonna eat local, you better drink local. And I’d be lying if I didn’t say the real reason we came in was to wrap my lips around that tasty crimson WEEKEND LOVER they can’t stop talking about.
It was everything I wanted in a berry sour.
The real surprise was their dessert.
They had this banana peanut butter cheesecake, and it was so good, it tasted like a banana cream pie. I couldn’t get enough.
HANGOVER BURGER
Pepper jack cheeseburger topped with thick, hand cut bacon, fried egg, jalapeno and sriracha mayo served on a traditional bun.

Stopping in at Salt City Brewing Company

In Hutchinson, for some video work, and I’ve always wanted to stop in at Salt City Brewing Company . They brew some of my favorite beers but I just never had the chance to check them out.

It was particularly hot that day so I asked for some ice water to pair with a local special brew.
I picked the Cherrywood Blond. They said it was real smokey and it was, and I loved it. Perfect brew for a 8 hour shoot day during the hot Summer Sun.
They have plenty of beers to pick from, and Space Race is one of my favorite not just for taste but for the donation each sale gives to the Cosmosphere
Partial proceeds from the sale of Space Race Hazy IPA and its line of related merchandise will go to the Cosmosphere,” including funding things like their camp scholarship fund. You’re practically drinking for education!
I always like trying different items, so I ordered their wings and their most popular lunch items, The House Cut Ribeye Sandwich, unfortunately none of these go to support a charity, but they go to support this dream a father and son had of staring at a brewery.
SCB was began with a phone call from father to son, asking if he’d be interested in starting a brewery in town. Little did they know, this pet project would evolve to a full blown passion, and way of life.
Funny how that life works that way. You can have a plan, and all of sudden you’re running a loved and successful brewery.
Loved everything from the food, the brews and the people, all around great vibe, would visit again!.

Wasabi Wichita Wasabi East

Before I embark on my Supermarket Sushi Saga, I felt it was necesary to set the standard.
And no place sets the stranded for sushi as Wasabi Wichita Wasabi East

Hours vary, GOOGLE IT!
Sorry if I’m a bit short with the info. I’m just realizing that the next 5-10 rolls won’t even come close to this meal at Wasabi.
As I look back at these photos and I’m already missing the quality that comes with the wasabi’s menu item.
I’ve seen the Sushi Burrito many times at different places, but never considered ordering one until I sat down and it was on the lunch menu today. They had three different burritos.
Turns out it’s just one big sushi roll. But this one you don’t get judged for eating with your hands. Maybe some judgment, but manageable.
@lisa.lifestyle.ict is a foodie of habit, and considering she’s ordered the BSCR at every sushi place that has one, she’s concluded, wasabi’s is the best.
We always ask our waiter to order us their favorite roll as well.
SYDNEY ROLL
sp albacore and cucumber topped with yellowtail and tobiko & soy mustard
BSCR
crab, avocado and cucumber topped with mozzarella cheese and scallop with baking sauce & eel sauce
SASHIMI STREET BURRITO
yellowtail, salmon, tuna, avocado, spring mix
I might hate sushi after this Supermarket Sushi Saga ….
But I’ll always have the memories at Wasabi ❤️🍣

A look at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

I try my best to avoid chains. Nothing against them, I just prefer to support local whenever I can.
But if anyone were to ask me what’s my go to chain, and in this scenario I just made up, I’d only have one answer.
Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
A few weeks back when the storms hit Wichita and left most of us without any power, we had to eat out more than usual.
After a full day of tree trimming, branch breaking,, no AC and no Power, I just wanted something from my comfort scratch kitchen.
I had worked up some thirst and an appetite. I ordered a tall beer, steak, mashed potatoes, red beans and rice.
Opened it with a Ceaser Salad, and opened that with their honey buttered up crissots!
I’ll say it,
Cheddar’s Croissant > Texas Road House Rolls
Let’s argue.
We also grabbed a No.8 SPECIAL Chicken Tendies. Always good, never disappointing. @lisa.lifestyle.ict is convinced they have never not been perfect. And seeing as it’s what she orders every time, I’m inclined to believe her.

Buster’s is the real deal. Come hungry. Leave full. Regret nothing.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when a smash burger isn’t smashed.

If heart attacks had a flavor, it would be the Triple Pattie Smash Burger from Buster’s—and I’d gladly go out smiling.
Three juicy, greasy, flavor-packed patties stacked like a delicious meat tower, smashed to crispy perfection with cheese melting into every crevice.
It’s not just a burger; this thing drips flavor—and probably a little guilt, but who’s judging?
And don’t even get me started on the tater tots. Golden. Crunchy. Like tiny potato grenades of joy. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside—basic the perfect tot.
Cash only, no frills, no BS—just damn good food and greasy grins. Buster’s is the real deal. Come hungry. Leave full. Regret nothing, heartburn possible, worth the risk.
