El Gusto ICT does not mess around when it comes to tacos.

El Gusto ICT does not mess around when it comes to tacos.
I’ve been making the rounds ahead of Wichita Taco Fest , and El Gusto Mexican Eatery instantly jumped to the top of my list.
I already knew their burritos and quesadillas were fire—but these tacos? Next level 🥹
Easily some of the best I’ve ever had. Follow them now and make sure you hit their truck at Taco Fest this year.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they take home “Best Taco” this time around.

Tortas Are Not Sandwiches at Palacana

Tortas are not sandwiches. They’re tortas!
We chose to eat out at Palacana since our power was out from the storms.
@lisa.lifestyle.ict and I had an early dinner and that’s good, cause we managed to beat the rush, cause everyone else in the neighborhood had the same situation going on.
We grabbed La Cubana Torta. And while some people call this a Mexican sandwich, they don’t know what they’re talking about.
LA CUBANA
Breaded steak, chorizo, eggs, ham, queso fresco, pork, sausage, tomato, onion, avocado, American cheese, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, pinto beans & chipotle dressing with a grilled pepper
We shared a treat afterwards too.
TRES MARIAS
Waffle bowl, ice cream, (strawberry, vanilla & chocolate) topped with strawberry and chocolate syrup, cookies whipped cream, sprinkles & a cherry
We substituted the standard ice cream with some of the house favorites, Nut, Pistachio, and Strawberry.
Seriously one of the best places to eat on the north end.

R Coffee House also known to many as The Riverside Perk

Growing up in Wichita, there are some places that will always be …
Joyland will always be Joyland.
Jack’s will always be Jack’s
And now joining them will be R Coffee House also known to many as The Riverside Perk.
The Riverside Perk established in the early 2000’s it quickly became a favorite of mine and many of my fellow students while I attended North High.
With light sandwiches and simple coffees to power through study sessions, this was a great place for the community.
In 2012, two brothers took the reigns and rebranded to R Coffee House.
With elevated food options and creative espresso focused drinks, the vibes remained the same and enhanced.
2025 is here now, and the brothers move to the next chapter of their life and so does this building.
The stories these walls could tell are only a fraction of all the memories and relationships created within them.
Best of luck to everyone, including the little coffee shop at the corner of 11th and Bitting ❤️ Thanks for the memories.
