🎭 Prairie Pines Playhouse: “I Want My Dead TV” Was a Nostalgic 80’s Holiday Treat

On their 20th season, Prairie Pines Playhouse delivered a night of laughs, mystery, and unforgettable holiday vibes with their winter show, “I Want My Dead TV”—an 80’s Christmas Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre that was equal parts comfort, chaos, and charm.

📍 4055 N Tyler Rd, Maize, KS 67101

🕒 Office open M–F, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

The dinner theater experience blew us away—traditional comfort food warmed our souls, and the drinks—especially My Girl Friday 🍹🍸—were tasting like holiday nostalgia (with a cheeky kick).

Everything from the Christmas Cheer cocktail had that throwback magic. The show was interactive, too; performers served us, chatted with the crowd, and kept everyone in the mystery as dinner, drinks, dessert, and performances wove together into a fantastic evening.

It was a special night we’ll remember: festive, immersive, hilarious, and heartwarming. If you’re looking for something beyond the usual holiday hustle—grab tickets while you still can.

Wasabi Wichita Wasabi East

Before I embark on my Supermarket Sushi Saga, I felt it was necesary to set the standard.
And no place sets the stranded for sushi as Wasabi Wichita Wasabi East
📍🗺️
Locations out East & Downtown
⏰🗓️
Hours vary, GOOGLE IT!
Sorry if I’m a bit short with the info. I’m just realizing that the next 5-10 rolls won’t even come close to this meal at Wasabi.
As I look back at these photos and I’m already missing the quality that comes with the wasabi’s menu item.
I’ve seen the Sushi Burrito many times at different places, but never considered ordering one until I sat down and it was on the lunch menu today. They had three different burritos.
Turns out it’s just one big sushi roll. But this one you don’t get judged for eating with your hands. Maybe some judgment, but manageable.
@lisa.lifestyle.ict is a foodie of habit, and considering she’s ordered the BSCR at every sushi place that has one, she’s concluded, wasabi’s is the best.
We always ask our waiter to order us their favorite roll as well.
SYDNEY ROLL
sp albacore and cucumber topped with yellowtail and tobiko & soy mustard
BSCR
crab, avocado and cucumber topped with mozzarella cheese and scallop with baking sauce & eel sauce
SASHIMI STREET BURRITO
yellowtail, salmon, tuna, avocado, spring mix
I might hate sushi after this Supermarket Sushi Saga ….
But I’ll always have the memories at Wasabi ❤️🍣

A look at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

I try my best to avoid chains. Nothing against them, I just prefer to support local whenever I can.
But if anyone were to ask me what’s my go to chain, and in this scenario I just made up, I’d only have one answer.
Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
A few weeks back when the storms hit Wichita and left most of us without any power, we had to eat out more than usual.
After a full day of tree trimming, branch breaking,, no AC and no Power, I just wanted something from my comfort scratch kitchen.
I had worked up some thirst and an appetite. I ordered a tall beer, steak, mashed potatoes, red beans and rice.
Opened it with a Ceaser Salad, and opened that with their honey buttered up crissots!
I’ll say it,
Cheddar’s Croissant > Texas Road House Rolls
Let’s argue.
We also grabbed a No.8 SPECIAL Chicken Tendies. Always good, never disappointing. @lisa.lifestyle.ict is convinced they have never not been perfect. And seeing as it’s what she orders every time, I’m inclined to believe her.

Raha Mediterranean Grand Opening June 6th!

Wichita, KS
@lisa.lifestyle.ict and I arrived early to check out the space. This is my second experience. It was nice to see RAHA fully realized.
The great thing is that it’s directly connected to Tap N Paddles giving pickleball enthusiasts a healthy and delicious option for dinner and lunch.
We shared their hummus which was divine, the chimichurri was a nice touch with that smoked brisket.
The drinks were great too. I felt like they nailed the espresso martini. Everyone’s taste is a little different. When I have a cocktail, I best describe the way I want it to taste it as wanting to be in the room with alcohol, but not having a full conversation.
Lisa on the other hand wants to have a full on love affair with it, after all she does prefer her wine dryer than bone. Which is great cause they have a fantastic selection of red and white wines to pair with each dish.
The entries came out and they taste as good as they look. I enjoyed my lamb shank, but if I’m honest, I just kept wanting to have another bite of the pomegranate fried chicken. So much to where I had to be batted away. One of the best prices I’ve had. I wish there was a bit of spiciness to it to balance those pomegranate pops of sweetness. But overall a great experience.
The portions were generous, so we didn’t stay for dessert, but what I eyed at other tables looked marvelous.
SMOKED BRISKET HUMMUS
